About Me

For many years, I had stood on the sideline and let everyone talk about immigration on my behalf.  For years, I had felt like I shouldn't make any demand from the USA despite the fact that I had paid $$$ into the system, through income taxes, sales taxes, property taxes , out-of-state tuition etc, etc.  I never felt entitled to make demands from the USA.  I just feel if I am a guest to someone's home, for example,  if I am living in an American family who host foreign students for cultural exchange, it will be really rude and crazy of me to demand my host family to treat me equally like they treat their kids by putting me in their will as an heir to their house.

So, for years as a green card holder, I didn't pay much attention to American politics, and I had no expectation of what America could do for me. I have to say no matter how I tried to ignore the U.S. politics, the 2016 election was one U.S. election that got me watching.  I just don't want to stand on the sideline in 2020, like I did in the 2016 election, voiceless and powerless.

Now as a new citizen,  I still don't have any expectation about what America can do for me.  I was raised by a culture that advocates  people not to expect what the country can do for me, but what I can do for my family and myself. I however feel I finally earned my right to express myself.

P.S. No matter how many times I re-read what I wrote, I can always find typo and grammatical errors, so bear with me since English isn't my first language.  If you are interested in being my editor to help edit what I write, please feel free to contact me.
